Gaming GuruRants and Raves1 February 2001
Many ringside observers and scribes had Ruiz winning it. I was not among them. I thought that this time the judges got it right. Evidently there was enough controversy for the WBA to hold a hearing and mandate a rematch. I'm not sure what goes on behind the scenes, but one thing is for sure, Holyfield (37-4-1) always comes ready to fight. He has proven himself over the years as a true warrior. Ruiz (36-4) has not fought the kind of quality opponents that Holyfield has, but feels that this is a huge opportunity to prove himself. At press time these are the current odds: There are odds out on which team will win NEXT year's Superbowl. The favorite is the Titans at 5-1. Right behind them are the Rams 6-1, Raiders 7-1, and Colts 8-1. The Buccaneers, Ravens and Vikings are all 10-1. The longshots on the board are the Bengals and Browns at 150-1. There are more and more people wagering in the sportsbooks on non-traditional betting activities. Nascar, golf, and tennis are just a few of the sports that are catching the fancy of sports bettors. The odds to win the 2001 Masters that will take place April 5-8 at Augusta National Golf Club has Tiger Woods as the big favorite. This should come as no surprise to anyone! He is 6\5 to win. Some of the other big names have substantially better odds: Ernie Els, Phil Mickelson, and David Duval are bunched together at 12-1. Davis Love and Vijay Singh are both 20-1. Justin Leonard, Nick Price and Hal Sutton are 50-1. How's this for some huge longshots Jack Nicklaus, Raymond Floyd, Seve Ballesteros and Ben Crenshaw are all 1,000-1! In the last couple of days I have gone on my yearly hiatus from my daily radio show. I will return August 1. This past season I had on some of the best guests in the 11 years of the show. They ranged from sports legends, John Wooden, Carl Erskine and Jim Otto to poker and sports betting figures like, Phil Hellmuth Jr, Lem Banker and Mort Olshan. All of the shows and special highlights from the previous years are available at www.audiovegas.com The site is absolutely FREE and it is especially designed to help the casino and sports bettor to have a better shot at winning. All of the clips can be heard while you are roaming around the internet. Every once in a while the site is filled with visitors. Try it again in less than peak hours. There are over 300 audio clips on it. Most are between 10 to 20 minutes long. I hope that you enjoy it. As Always…Good Luck! Related Links
